We have been collecting Pennies for Peace. The pennies are going to Pakistan and Afghanistan. They will build more schools for children because learning helps us to know more about one another.

If you would like a can to collect some pennies to help please let us know and we will give you a collection can. Also if you want to know more about this read how Dr. Greg met the children of Korphe in the book, "Listen to the Wind."

Ladybugs Ladybugs Everywhere!

Our ladybugs arrived early, but we have been enjoying observing them and wondering why all of them do not have spots? Do you know?

OH MY WHAT A WONDERFUL SPRING!

We are so excited! Our first graders have worked so hard practicing for the spring program. It was a great success and we really enjoyed watching and listening to them perform. Check out the upcoming pics of some pretty cute pond creatures from "A Froggy Day in Lindentown."

OH SO BUSY!!!

We have been very busy learning about famous Americans. We created hats to wear and we taped each child talking about either George Washington or Abraham Lincoln. Hopefully we will able to post these soon for you to view.

As we began the month of March we continued our study of weather. We have been exploring wind and force.

We enjoyed READ ACROSS AMERICA DAY and our weeklong study of Dr. Seuss....our t-shirts we created and wore that day were a big hit with everyone!

Our Very Hungry Reader Caterpillar has a circle body part with each child's name their own design. All of the students have earned two legs for their part. This represents 50 books read, so hopefully everyone will keep reading and add the next 25!!

Fun Week

Hurray!
It is done!!!
It has been such a busy week we have not had alot of time to enjoy it yet! But we plan on taking turns reading books in our special place!

We do still need to finish counting the milk jugs and get a grand total...Before we put on the top we had counted 111! Our math problem next week is to figure out if we used more milk jugs to make the top than the bottom.

How many do you think there are in our igloo?

Back to School!!

It was so wonderful to have everyone back today! We have started printing the 100 on our shirts for the 100th day celebration on Thursday. We will add the tally marks tomorrow to represent 100.

The student council came to inform us this morning of a school service for the RED CROSS. We are trying to raise money for the earthquake victims in Haiti and local families who have recently lost their homes to fire. Our goal is $1150.00. They are asking the each class to donate spare change.

Another item of need is the book collection for Africa. We need 90 more book donations to reach our goal! If your child has any books in good condition we would welcome it.

When we return to school...

Snow is falling all around,
Not a single child at school will be found.
Soon the snow will stop and the sun will shine,
And we will decorate our boxes for Valentine's.
